Who is Romy?

My golf adventure began when I was thirteen during a family clinic in Spain. With my background in hockey (8 years) and tennis (4 years), I already had a good feel for sports.

After this first introduction, I took golf lessons and obtained my GVB at golf club De Haar. Then I became a member at golf club Amelisweerd, where I received lessons from Annemieke de Goederen.

Due to my rapid progress and achievements in youth competitions, I caught the attention of the Netherlands Golf Federation (NGF). They invited me to join the national team – an amazing opportunity that I immediately seized.

In the eight years that followed, I completed all selection levels, participated in European and World Championships, and won multiple national titles.

After a wonderful time at Amelisweerd, I moved to UGC De Pan in 2015. There I won three national titles before deciding to turn professional. My professional career began in 2021, during the coronavirus pandemic. Because there was no qualification that year for the Ladies European Tour (LET), I played on the LETaccess Tour. We had to adhere to strict coronavirus rules. Since 2022, I start each season on the Sunshine Ladies Tour in South Africa and then play on the LET with a partial membership card.

Each year I make great progress and there is a clear upward trend in my game and results. In 2024 and 2025, I finished in the top 10 of the Order of Merit on the Sunshine Ladies Tour. Last year (2025), I also achieved a place in the top 100 of the Ladies European Tour, which was my best season to date. Thanks to these results, I am once again eligible to play on the LET for 2026, with partial playing rights. I expect to be able to play approximately 15 tournaments, and based on my results at the beginning of the season, this number may potentially be expanded. My goal is therefore to obtain full playing rights on the Ladies European Tour for the following season.
